man... time flies but today is my mom's birthday. april 11. now i don't want to put my momma on blast and tell all yall her age... but she has done so much for me.  i'd like to dedicate this entry to her.  i hope that God blesses her and my father more than they have blessed me.  That's really askin alot of God, but really i always want the best for my parents.  If i don't provide that for them... which i choose sometimes not to because i have my own agendas... then i hope that God will.  haha.  yup yup.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

haha sooo apparently... i had embarassed my auntie for putting up some incriminating pictures of her.  but seeing that these pictures look good... i think it's okay to put them up.  hahaha.  goodness... it's alright though cuz i understand.  you just don't want people to see the bad side that's presented of yourself even if it's through a picture.  it's just like in college.  you really don't wanna go to class all sloppy especially if your class is during the later part of the day.  it just doesn't fly.  haha.  that's kinda the rule between me and my roommate anyway.  i hope we don't sound high maintenance.  it's just how we roll.  that's whats really good in the streets.  thas whats hood.  anyways... yeah imma show off to you more of my family.  haha.

there's uncle shane, auntie jo, and me... unc has like the in-depth knowledge of hip hop that i have still yet to learn from my friends... he's a great guy... what's so great is we were talkin NAS (my favorite all time rapper) almost throughout our brunch... and my aunties both had blank stares... haha... glad he's married to my emmo... he don't like to heckle like auntie does... haha

yup so there it all is.  man... lemme tell you what though... this just makes me want to make a trip out west to visit my fam in SEATTLE.  duuude that would be soooo tight.  but i have soo much to do and so little time.  please pray to God for me to have more time.  that's real talk everyone.  anyways.... i hope all is good.

on a side note... RUN'S HOUSE came back on MTV... mondays at 10/9c.  it's a great show. i am soo excited. 

The Tale of a Good WEEKEND

yeah this weekend i decided to take a random trip to andrews university... home of a great NOONAH of mine.  haha.  yeah i visited jina noonah this weekend.  it was out of thinkin that maybe this was the last time i would see her in a pretty long while... but come to figure out... maybe not.  haha.  man oh man.  but nonetheless i enjoyed this weekend.  it was relaxing and just good to see some old faces.  you know andrews though... it's something i probably would not reconsider if i had the choice.  for some reason, i find comfort in knowing i have the good friends i have now in college and just livin a pretty good as it is.  i don't want people think its a bad place.  but you know some things are just not meant for me, nor may that college be deserving of me either... can be good or bad.  i've figured that much out about my life through the years.  anyways, like i said i do like visiting from time to time.  it's a refreshing feeling.  haha. i dunno why.

maybe it's cuz their church service was great this weekend.  let's see, there was special music by maria kim and daniel park.  not only was it good... it was a great great song.  an all time favorite.  FOLLOW YOU.  man it brought me back to the day i first heard it in loma linda during our KAYAMM dedication.  and then again when we would always have QT back in mexico and that song would be playin in the background while me, DIANA, JOSH, and TINA would be meticulously reading and writing in our journals.  and then back to the time at mountain view church.  man that was a nice summer.  but yeah i just love love that song.  and then pastor joey was preaching.  lemme tell you... pastor joey just brings back memories from long ago.  12 years back and i can remember him coming in and doing a vbs for our church literally from scratch... and now he's all grown up... and married. haha.  i loved the title of his sermon... "meet me at the furnace."  basis of his message was... are we willing to stand up for God through the hard times?  Is it fair to blame God for all the hard times and troubles that may happen to GOOD people?  I'm sure you all are smart enough to form your opinions.  i have no answer, but to say that you OUGHT to figure it out for yourself.

yea for the rest of SABBATH we just chilled and hung out and relaxed.  oh yeah... we attempted to go to the PASSION play that was happening at andrews... but we couldnt muster up the energy or motivation to go back and see it.  haha. it did seem like it was gonna be something unique.  but in the end we missed out.  oh yeah i forgot to mention its APRIL and it snowed... what is wrong with this picture?  oh well... thas why i wanna live somewhere closer to the south.  haha.  i wanna go back to my roots.

yep anyways yeah that's about it for my weekend.  oh yeah i watched blood diamond for the second time... man that is a great movie... just gives you another perspective about life.  from the outside looking in... it may sound like just like any other weekend... but you know what... i still had fun.  and thas all that matters to me.  haha.  i hope everyone else liked their weekend too.  i hope everyone is taking care and keeping it real.  live life a second at a time. 

the Spring Break that once was...

man it's been more than a week since i've had my spring break. but now that i've had time to settle down and have time to write something about it i will now.  let me first off thank my aunties for doin everything to make it fun for me.  i really enjoyed it alot and i hope that i can do the same for them when they come down here.  haha.  see, i know what auntie G was doing.  everytime i asked where the currency exchange was, she would tell me she could give me a very good rate.  haha well... none of that is gonna happen here... because i dont know where the currency exchange is.  this time you're keepin your money when you come out.  haha anyways, yeah i had a great time in toronto.  although it ain't as good as it is back in dallas (my original home).  i still felt at home.  and i'd like to thank the TORONTO people for makin it happen.  haha.  i like the people at church very much and have a high regard for you all.  haha. true indeed.  anyways here is a synopsis of my trip.  i'll try to write a synopsis for each photo, but each photo should explain itself really.  haha LOL.  i'm just lazy as you can tell.

the short history on my nicknames...

before i get into my entry... let's just say this entry comes as a bit surprise.  today for the first time in 13 years our school cancelled all classes for 24 hours.  i was so excited because first of all i had a test to do at 4:30 today and secondly, i just didnt want to go period today.  the day just looks atrocious.  horrendous.  we're supposed to end up with at least 10"-15" of snow (about 25 cm to 35 cm). that is incredibly ridiculous.  and on top of that freezing rain's supposed to come in tonight... which might just ruin the whole week as far as i'm concerned.  man i'm tellin ya it's a good day to reminisce.

you know people keep askin me just exactly how i acquired the idea for my screen name.  so i thought to myself that i would give you a little insight as to how all of my nicknames have come about.  i don't know if i'm proud of all my nicknames but i think some of them are pretty funny.  hahaha.  it's just something interesting for yall to read about.

toothdk21 (AIM: toothdk2001) : it originated in the summer of 1999.  my personal tennis instructor Dave Licker asked me during one of my sessions if anyone ever had called me toothdecay before?  because i was always called DK on the tennis court and it was fitting since i smiled so much that i should be called toothDK.   so here i am today and it's stuck with me ever since.

DK: it originated whenever donkey kong came out.  they used to call him DK.  then everyone started to call me DK and it's been a hit throughout high school and even to this day in college.

Big Kang: started out in 2002 when i first played hockey in high school.  as you all may know i have a little brother.  Josh is known as little Kang and i am Big Kang.  that's that really.  haha.

Kangerang: this one started again sometime in high school.  the person that gave it to me is prolly the coolest person in the world.  Jason Drake.  dude was always doin like bizarre things and i wouldn't doubt if he still did today.  an example, he came to senior pictures for hockey wearing a disgusting plaid jacket that was like brown and black plaid with a huge set of afro lookin hair and a cowboy hat.  incredibly funny and incredibly genius.  the hair was real too.

SlanginKang: this one was given to me by my friend Danny. haha.  all i can remember is that he called me this after we started playin Timesplitters 2.  we would always do multiplayer and we would all like each slaughter each other. good times because there was never a real cut number one player in that game.

KangBang: again originated in college like SlanginKang. i think it was because just the two words sound so similar that it just goes together.  ironically my paternal grandmother's last name is Bang.  weeeeiiiirrrd.

Shortcut Dave: hahaha this one is a favorite.  my best friend calls me this.  he gave me this name because whenever we always go out to get something or go grocery shopping i always seem to take new roads and back roads.  i'm notoriously known for finding the quickest way and if it is through back roads then so be it.  hahaha.

Jackie Chan: now i think i've said this before but i don't agree with it.  people say i look like him. and wooow.  this isn't just one or two people.  it's like all my friends.  i think they just all say it just because... but whatever.  haha i ain't mad.  jackie chan is one of my favorite actors of all time.  can't go wrong with his movies.

alright so basically thas a pretty basic list.  i dont know if i've left any out.  but anyways if you got a nickname your proud of let me know whats up.  aight take cares.

let me tell you a little story...

i was none too happy with the results that happened this sunday.  i guess i'm happy that INDIANA won something though.  maybe people will recognize where i'm from now.  haha LOL.  it dont matter.  i had a good time on sunday anyways.  we had a grill out over at my friends' apartment.  we had burgers, hot dogs, chips, and soda (pop, whatever floats your boat) and just had a good time before the game started.  haha i ate until i couldn't have anymore.  which i kinda regret because i think i added at least 5 pounds.  haha.  but its all good, it was good eatin.  but yes THE FUNNIEST thing happened during the game yesterday.  my friend BRAD was havin a very good time during the first quarter.  first of all i was proud to call that HESTER kickoff return... that man is sick... did you see him break ankles?  haha.  best play of the game by far.  and then on one of thomas jones' running plays, BRAD stood up and started screamin and yellin.  and then he punches the wall.  he punches it 3 times and on the third and luckiest of them all. he goes practically through the wall.  haha i was dying laughing because this wasn't the first time by all means that i've seen brad do this.  haha let me tell you something... brad is a work out freak.  he is to the point where i would be scared to mess with him period.  if he was a stranger and i was walkin down the same sidewalk as him, one good look and i'm on crossing to the other side.  haha.  but brad's cool... he just doesnt know how to properly channel his strength.  he's too strong for his own good.  haha turst me you had to be there for it.  the HOLE was HUUUUUUGGGEEE!

anyways life has been pretty hectic these past few weeks.  i mean gettin through exams and stuff and focusing on more exams coming up.  school is just not what i look forward to.   haha.  but yea it's been really cold here lately.  like to the point where it hurts to be outside.  my snot freezes up, my nose turns red, my ears start to feel painful, i feel like i'm breathing in needles... man it just needs to stop.  and what's worse... it's gonna be like this for at least another week or two.  i am surely not looking forward to it.  well it's another week ahead.  i hope everyone is doin alright.  keepin warm and stuff. take cares everyone.
